ACTUALIZACION

Este es el F-51D Mustang Cavalier FAS 404 en el que el 17 de julio de 1969 fue derribado el Capitán Douglas Varela de la Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña (FAS) en combate con el Capitán Fernando Soto de la Fuerza Aérea Hondureña (FAH) en un F4U-5N en la llamada Guerra de las 100 horas. Hasta hace poco tiempo no se disponia de información fidedigna respecto a este hecho y se decia que el Cap. Varela habias sido derribado en el FAS 407, hoy sabemos que no es así.

This is the F-51D Mustang Cavalier FAS 404 which on 17 July 1969 was shot down Capt. Douglas Varela Salvadoran Air Force (FAS) in battle with Captain Fernando Soto Honduran Air Force (HAF) in a F4U-5N in the War of 100 hours. Until recently, no reliable information was available regarding this and it was said that the Cap. Varela had been shot down in FAS 407, we now know that it is not.

El modelo utilizado es el Mustang TAMIYA en 1/72, el cual fue modificado para representar un Mustang Cavalier,se le agregó una extension a la cola al estilo del P-51H (hecha de tarjeta plastica de teléfono) y se le agregaron los tanques en la punta de las alas (estos fueron tomados de un F-80 Airfix y se modificaron a las medidas originales obtenidas por Marco Lavagnino) la cabina fue modificada a los estandares del Cavalier y se le retiró el tanque central de combustible y el radio.

La pintura es Model Master (dark green y medium green y light gray) y Revell tan.

Las calcomanias son de Aztecmodels del set Macho Mustang II D-72030 todo se ambiento con yeso pastel y se sello con Furure.

The model used in the Mustang TAMIYA 1/72, which was modified to represent a Cavalier Mustang, an extension was added to the queue in the style of P-51H (made of plastic phone card) and were added to the tanks at the tip of the wings (these were taken from an F-80 Airfix and modified the original measures obtained by Marco Lavagnino) the cabin was modified to the standards of the Cavalier and pulled the center fuel tank and radio. 

Paint is Model Master (dark green and medium green and light gray) and Revell so. 

The decals are from the set Aztecmodels Macho Mustang II D-72030 whole cake is set in plaster and seal with Furure.
