Always wanted to build a Topcat Jolly Roger and after seeing it in a hobby shop selling this 1/100 AFC for USD 7 bucks. Decide to fulfill my longtime wish.

Saw the kit box indicated a detail cockpit and various under wing weaponry. I was excited about the kit after being impressed by the new highly detailed Dragon 1/144 scale aircraft series and had high expectation for this kit since AFC Club armour kit is regarded as one of the best.

Don't be fool by the words. The cockpit is non existent and weaponry provided is stingy with only 4 AIM-7 Sparrows. I even had to scratch build the swing wing weapon pylon and get my own 1/100 scale AIM-9 missiles. Detail of this kit is very plain. Only positive part this kit is the decal which offer you 3 versions for the Jolly Rogers.  Very disappointed with AFC club for producing such a kit.

I decide to make it in flight mode since the kit disappointed me and I want to build it quick and end it fast. Landing gears are abandoned. Using Mr Color flat white and flat sail mix together for the main aircraft color scheme.  I weathered it with black ink and wash down to bring out the panel detail. Since it is a small scale. I avoided heavy weather. Completed in 3 days.

Finally get my hands on the legendary VF-84 "Jolly Roger".
It is a beautiful paint scheme.
