I started this model
in memory of the Dardanelles War. This 345/15 belongs to one of the German aces
of WWI, Buddecke. It's from Eduard Profikit series, including a photoetch set. I
know I shouldn't dare a WWI kit after 40. With continuously broken delicate tail
and riggings, it took more than I expected. Thanks god I still have hair over my
head, a few was enough since the plane is so small and my hair is long.

Alclad alluminium
and Vallejo colors were used for the cockpit. Overall body is shades of Tamiya
deck tan. The upper and lower parts of the body were completely flat, no signs
of tension caused by the inside frame. So I preshaded where to be's by tan+white
and tan+brown as the plane gets light from upper front.
I think the front
alluminium parts had been flattened by hammering. In order to give this
characteristic effect I applied Surfacer 1200 with a sponge. The base is Alclad
alluminium and then drybrushed with ModelMaster's Titanium.
I drilled the
rigging
pass-throughs, but later realized that I forgot some tiny points. Decals on the
fuselage sides given wrongfully with different sizes. Especially the ones on the
tail were rectangle, rather than square, so painted them. The final disaster was
the Microsol, which dissolved the paint underneath the decals! Anyway, finally
managed to finish kit by painting the propeller with Vallejo' s new and old wood
colors.
