1/48 Tamiya F117 Stealth Fighter

Here is my build up of the Tamiya F117 Stealth Fighter, it was built generally out of the box except for the addition of wire brake and electrical conduits on the landing gear legs and a Quickboost resin ejection seat.

The model went together very well with no filler used anywhere, as you come to expect from a Tamiya kit. There is a great amount of detail supplied in the kit bomb bay, there is no way you could assemble this closed and hide that lovely detail. The wheel wells are equally well detailed.

The black paint scheme was a real pain to paint properly and I invested a considerable amount of time in it. Having said that I am still not happy with my efforts! The problem I was having was, just when I would get the shading and highlights just right, the gloss and or flat coats would hide all of my hard work!! Still practice makes perfect and I still have a few more all black aircraft in my stash to hone my painting skills on.
