"Chowhound" was built "Out of the Box".  A fantastic kit for its age with loads of detail both inside and out.  The only modifications to the kit was opening the front and rear crew doors.  I pre-shaded the panel lines prior to painting.  Airbrushing Model Master enamels with Olive Drab, Light Grey and Insignia Red.  The decals are also from the kit.

"Chowhound" was assigned to the 322nd Squadron of the 91st Bomb Group based at Bassingbourn, England.  Lt Jerry "Newqie" Newquist named her after the Walt Disney cartoon character "Pluto".

Lt Newquist and crew completed their tour of duty in "Chowhound" and sailed home on a 26 ship convoy on the day of the Normandy Invasion.  Lt. Jack Thompson and crew took over "Chowhound".  On August 8th 1944 "Chowhound" was shot down over Caen, France.
