Capt. James Cupp quote from Corsair Aces of WWII by Mark Styling.

"When we got to New Caledonia we found our Corsairs aboard the small carrier that had brought them from the US-not one of them had been made ready to fly after the trip. Moreover, we had to be catapulted, this being a rather experimental process as we had no information as to the performance of the plane under such conditions. They had no head rests (as most Navy planes do), so the first day was spent getting the ship's carpenters to make us wooden head rests for each plane. All of us except one made it off - a lone Corsair suffered engine failure and plunged off the bow of the ship".

The model is finished with Model Master Paint and Eagle Strike Productions Decals 48085.

Colors used on this model;

  • ANA 602 Light Gray
  • ANA 603 Sea Gray
