These
are a couple of Hasegawa F-16 kits built as early Block 30s with the GE
engine and NSI intakes. While I have a few Tamiya kits in my stash,
I still consider the Hasegawa kit to be a quality kit.

Both
kits were built mostly out of the box with the fuel tanks and their respective
pylons rescribed. I also replaced the pitot tubes with homemade ones made
out of needles and aluminum tubing. The travel pods were included in the
kit, and I chose to paint one gloss black to add some color to the build. The
decals were from Aeromaster and represent a couple of command jets based out of
Misawa AB, Japan.
I chose to pose the
aircraft in flight together since I had never had two models displayed in
formation before. I based the pose off a photo I saw many years ago of a
pair of Block 40s from the 555th FS. I enjoyed this build, and I'll
probably build a pair of F-16s like this again in the future, most likely with
markings from the 555th FS.
