Every year my model car club holds its annual Holiday Party contest which requires everyone that wishes to compete start with the same kit and build it as they see fit. This year's kit was the newly released Hudson Hornet from Moebius Models. Not have any interest in the subject I decided to go a different way and build it as an actual hornet insect.

I created the sub-structure in the computer in Solidworks and printed the parts on a 3-D printer, I then cut up and glued as much of the kit to the frame as I could fit. Even the clear parts found their way into the wings. Once complete the model was painted with Plasticote Slicker Yellow and Tamiya Gun Metal. The molded in chrome trim Bare Metal Foil.

It place 3rd in a very competitive field!
