This is my 1/48 Academy P-47D Thunderbolt finished in self adhesive Bare Metal Foil. The kit went together with no major problems. The only additions were a resin seat, aluminum tubing for the guns and Superscale decals.

The one problem with the kit are the guns.  They are too small (under-scaled) for the bay and the ammo belts just end at the side edge of the bay.  I tried to hide this by positioning the panel in a way that covers most of the under-scaled gun problem.

I finished the model using self adhesive Bare Metal Foil.  Some areas of the airframe were tricky to get the foil to conform, so I had to make smaller pieces to cover these areas.  Doing a model in foil is not that hard, just time consuming.  Patience with this stuff is a must!

I enjoyed building this kit and I think it turned out great!
