I do not submit all my models, but this one took me….. 11 years, from March 2009 to March 2020. I did first send to the waste basket the Monogram kit after failing to engrave it, then I did work 3 years on this kit but desperate by all the rivets to recreate, put it aside. Then last year I did finally restarted it to finish it.

It is the Italeri kit, with the old Verlinden detail kit dedicated to the Monogram kit (adjustments requested), plus Quickboost air intake.

Decals are from Authentic Decals, I wanted to make a A, dirty grey one from the 23rdFG.

What I have done in summary:

  • various detailing

  • All flaps down and airbrakes opened: not common but it happens.

  • manual recreation of all rivets in hollow. It’s not true, but ate the end it looks fine (to me at least)

  • Re-sculpting of the nose completely wrong

Hope you like this nasty bird.
