This my 1/48 Tamiya US Air Force version A-1J Skyraider. The aircraft is shown was assigned to the 56th Special Operations Wing of the 602nd fighter Squadron, No. 029 based in Thailand in 1969.

The Skyraider was also known as the "Spad" and "Able Dog" and was the primary aircraft of choice for close in air support and as an escort for search and rescue operations for downed pilots during the Vietnam War. The Spad could carry a wide variety of weapons for missions it was tasked to carry out.

I built this model completely OOB.  Tamiya and Gunze paints were used.  Assembly was relatively easy considering the quality of Tamiya kits.

Happy modelling!!
