1/72 Hasegawa A6M2 Zero

Hi all. This is my 1-72 Hasegawa Zero. It's the old kit, the one that has raised rivets everywhere. I've sanded the surface detail and completely rescribed the model. The wheel wells, exhausts and interior are made from scratch. Spinner came from old Matchbox Fw-190 kit.

I've decided to practice paint chipping on this model. First, I've painted the model with Humbrol Aluminum and gave it a coat of gloss cote. After that, the Model Master paints were applied. After the paint was dry, I used various stuff to simulate paint chipping - toothpick, masking tape etc. Maybe it looks a bit overdone, but it seems fine to me. After the paint chipping was done, I washed the model completely with black oil paint, and added some cordite and exhaust stains with pastels. The decals came from spare box. All the pics were taken with Canon Powershot G5.

I hope you like the model. I think I'll do better next time.
