Background
Information
The Wasp was
the navalised version of the Westland Scout operated by the British Army Air
Corp.
The Wasp could
carry a pair of MK 44 ASW torpedoes as well as other assorted weapon systems
including the a pair of Aerospatiale AS 12 wire guided missiles.
The helicopter
built depict 1 of the 6 Wasps operated by the Royal Malaysian Navy’s
499 Sqn. These aircraft have since been retired as the RMN recently took
delivery of six Super Lynx helicopters as well as six Fennec multi-role
helicopters.
Kit
The kit was the
Fujimi 1/48 Wasp and built OOB with the exception of the auxiliary fuel tank.
The tank was built using plastic card, putty and copper wire.
