HI Guys, here is my second submission to the ARC Pages. This time, the plane depicted is the very-well known "Big Beautiful Doll" P-51D, WZ*I, BuAer 472218, flown during 1945 by the famous 78th Fighter Group commanding officer Colonel John Dave Landers. Landers ended the war with 14,5 air victories plus 20 grounds victories, confirmed.  Six of his air victories were obtained in the Pacific theater of operations, the others were in Europe. One of Landers wingman was Charles "Chuck" Yeager, flying the P-51D "Glamourous Glenn" and known for being the first man breaking the sound barrier on October 14th, 1947. Landers died September 12th, 1989, in Grandbury TX.

As usual, the Tamiya kit is a real pleasure, fits very well and needed a very little amount of putty and sanding. The plane is as always totally build OOB, with the kit decals. Painting is handbrush-made with Humbrol enamels, Olive Drab panel is 155, Zinchromate yellow is 81 and the metallics colours are obtained with different mixes of metalcote 27001,27002 and 27003. Few aging effects are added to the model, to keep its brilliant aspect. It is my second P-51, the other one is the "Petie 2nd", HO*M, BuAer 414151 belonging to Lt Colonel John C.Meyer.
