I built this model
five years ago. When building a model in such a scale, its mandatory to detail
it enough. So, in that way, I decided, like on my Mirage IVP, to wholly scratchbuild the
cockpit, wheel wells and flaps.

As for the ejection seat, it's
quite a second scale model! Only the tub is from the kit, and the remaining is
completely scratchbuilt. Its head is in aluminium sheet for incomparable
effect to the end. It all the same took me quite a week of detailing work
before painting.

Flaps are made from
aluminium sheet with added styrene ribs.

Even if the wells
are deeper enough, I took the option to represent all the ribs and hydraulic
lines. The main wheel housing part had been completely rebuilt while ribs also
are from an aluminium sheet. Various hydraulic lines are in cooper or plumb
line. The most difficult work had been to guide them through the different holes
pierced in the ribs.

Otherwise, the model
is painted with Gunze references for upper surface, with a satin
varnish for the final metal aspect of the frame. Five years ago, Alclad
references didn't exist yet. So the underside is in Testor Aluminium, protected
with the dedicated metalizer gloss varnish. To make a long story short, the
pics in this article will show you the final result from different angles.
