1/72 Dragon Su-24M Fencer’s

I made the first Fencer (blue 30) 2 years ago. It was an Italeri kit, but it was the earlier Fencer-A model I had to convert to Su-24M. I changed the radom, the antennas, IFR, and a lot of other special items. The kit was very nice, the parts where well detailed, but the armament was very poor. The kit included 2xPTB-3000 fuel tanks, 2xR-60 air to air missiles with launchers, and 2 bombs. This is always, a critical point for me because usually I load the kits and this configuration was not enough for me. So I added 2xH-29L and 2XH-25MP missiles and 3xFAB-500 bombs. In the cockpit I used only the kit parts, because the closed canopy covers the most of the sight.

The other Fencer (white 39) was a Dragon kit, a Su-24M. Because I didn't need to make type-conversation, I started to "upgrade'' the kit with some self-made details. I opened the canopy and detailed the wings. It wasn't easy to cut the parts from the wing, but in the end they look much more impressive than the original. The armament was the same as the other kit, but Dragon also added a frame with air to ground missiles like H-29, H-25, and so on. The problem was only that they packed 1 example from each type so to make a symmetrical load only from this was not possible. I took some weapons from an Italeri Su-22UM3 (it was well equipped with armament) like the MBDZ-U6 multiple ejector rack, the B-8 blocks, and the FAB-250 bombs. The S-25OFM rockets are from another Italeri kit.

I put the Fencers on a diorama base. The ground equipment is from different kits, the ZIL command vehicle is an ICM kit, the others are from a Revell kit.
