In
honor of Nebraska's transition to the "West Coast" offense, I decided
to get a little creative with this otherwise dreadful model of an F-15.
Seriously folks, if you see this offering of the F-15 in any hobby store, no
matter what the price is (I paid $6.99, which was too much) steer clear. Enough
of the verbal kit bashing. There was a poster that was sold by the NU athletic
dept. showing our mascot flying an F-15 loaded with footballs. And a few weeks
into the season we had four F-15s fly over the football stadium before the game. So it got me
thinking. I decided to turn this awful kit into the
Nebraska Football air force of one. I made my own decals with Testors paper,
which I do not really recommend, spend a little more on some higher quality
paper. I turned the grey scheme used on many F-15s into a red scheme.
Originally I was toying with the idea of doing all red with white lightning down
the back, but this looks good I think. I put the "Blackshirts" Skull
on the tail wings. The "Blackshirts" is the name of our defense, and
the "bones" are big around here. I also included a Colorado License
Plate on one of the rear stabilizers. It says "NU Owns". And this
year we did own Colorado. Any way, hope you enjoy it, and if you're not a
Husker fan build one for your team!
