The
North American X-10 was built as the aerodynamic and systems testbed for the
SM-64 Navaho missile. Though thirteen X-10’s were constructed and ten were
flown, only a single example exists today in the U.S. Air Force Museum
Collection.
The resin kit by Muroc
Models was a wonderfully detailed and relatively easy kit to build as resin kits
go. Like all of the kits from this
company it was well engineered with a great fit of all the major components.
Instructions were well done and the supplied decals were perfect. I chose to go
with the early overall white paint scheme, which makes for a very clean look. It
is definitely one of the coolest looking X-plane models in my collection.

The
most delicate part of this model was the rather complex landing gear
arrangement. A little extra stiffening was added to help support the weight of
the finished kit. The masters for this kit were sent to Sharkit and were later
put into production.
