This is my model of
Revells Hawker Hunter, converted to a Royal Danish Air Force Hunter f.mk.51. I
built it almost straight from the box, only adding a resin seat,
some antennas and I did some corrections to the wings and the fuselage, since
the Danish Hunters were like the mk.4, not the mk.6 that Revell has made. The
paint scheme is a Hunter from 724 squadron 1973. The green colour on Danish
aircraft from that era almost disappeared after some flying, so only the
primer and some repainting on the panel lines was left. I made the weathered
effect by painting the whole model primer gray and then adding green
pastels to the panel lines, followed by a thin stripe of green(fs.34079) over
the pastels. I use this technique because I don't have an airbrush, and I think
it works quite all right.
More RDAF planes to
come. Happy modelling. T
