1/32 Revell F-16C conversion

It bit me again after twenty years. I started this conversion in the eighties, wanting an F 16C. I scratchbuilt the seat and cockpit (no resin parts then), made a new lower vertical fin and increased the size of the rear stabilators. The fuselage was modified for a vacformed canopy, as well as the gunport was opened and modified.

Fast forward to 2006. The modell was still standing on the workbench at my parents house, the whole workshop was pretty much how I left it years ago. Since I bought/inherited the house and moved in with the family, I now had workspace again. Restoring old Volkswagens also came in handy, because I routed a line with pressurized air from the garage to the workbench, now being able to do away with the flimsy fridge compressor.

I took a hard look at the model and decided it was just the right opportunity to rehone my skills. Through the internet I found the decals, the CAM CBUs and the wingtanks (thanx Larry). The jamming pod is from a Revell F 4 with scratchbuilt pylon, the conopy from the Academy F 16, as are the TERs. The sidewinders are scratchbuilt. I used my Badger airbrush and Gunze paints. I tried still left over Humbrol paints from way back when first, but due to the odor I prefer acrylics now. Well thats it for now, I know this submission isnt as good as the others on ARC, but it was fun anyway. Maybe I will get better, I already bought a lot of 32nd scale stuff...
