Revell has
produced some quality 1/144 scale kits lately, and this one is no exception.
Canmilair decals were used along with the kit decals to complete the project.
The only problem with the kit was the windscreen fit, which required some shims
to fill the gaps. The extra antenna that these aircraft used were added, as
well as the pitot tubes, made from .008" E string. The plain cockpit was
spruced up with scratch built seats, console and panel, although they are
invisible in the photos.

Paints used
were insignia white, my version of 509 102 for the red, and automotive chrome for
the aluminum areas. The cabin windows were filled with Clearfix. Decals
were sealed with semi gloss acrylic. The effect is good; you can see
reflection of the decals in some of the photos. The wing trailing edges were
thinned to produce a more in-scale appearance. This was also done to the engine
exhausts, from the inside, to produce the necessary furnace pipe appearance.
The wing tip nav lights
were cut out and replaced with clear plastic, then painted their respective
colours. A similar process of cutting, drilling and filling was used to
enhance the wing landing lights. The results were quite good, although again
nearly invisible in the photos. Panel line enhancement was kept to a minimum, and
no weathering was done, since these VIP aircraft are maintained in mint
condition.
