1/48 Hasegawa F6F-3 Hellcat

After a very long break in model building I decided to get back into the hobby again with this kit.  I've always loved the F6 and the Hasegawa kit was nicely priced at a local hobby shop, even better because they were 25% off!  This model featured a lot of new techniques that I had never tried before, most after reading about them on this site.

The model was sprayed with Model Master paints and then Future was applied for the decals and sealing coat.  The dirty wash on the bottom was my first ever attempt at weathering an aircraft.  I think I may have gone a little overboard, but considering this aircraft sits exposed on the deck of a carrier I kind of like it!  The lights on the bottom of the fuselage were painted using food coloring and Future, another first.
