1/48 Trumpeter P-40B

Hi everyone and its my first submission here at ARC.  This is my 1/48 Trumpeter P-40B that I built straight out-of-the-box.  The model depicts the aircraft of Lt. Joe Moore, CO of the 20th Pursuit Squadron based at Clark Air Field on December 1941.  I used Gunze Sangyo's Mr. Color Lacquer paints and gave the aircraft a slightly weathered and faded look by lightening the colors and using a fine brush with Silver to simulate paint chipping.  I did not use the kit supplied decals so I went to my spare box for the US roundels and numbers.

"No. 41" was Moore's aircraft  when he took-off just in time when Japanese bombs were falling on Clark's runway on December 8, 1941.  It was said that this aircraft was later christened "P-40 Something" as it was patched up and repaired using spare and cannibalized parts from B and even the later E models.

Regards,

Tony
