Here
is my Bf109E-3 from the Battle of Britain. To add detail I used the following
items:
-
Eduard
PE for the instrument panel.
-
Ultracast
seat, exhaust pipes and prop.
-
Decals
are from Aeromaster Bf109E Battle of Britain part 2 (#48-644).

The
model was painted with Gunze Acrylics. The groundwork was made from PolyInstafil
plaster mixed with fine sand and static grass. Various colors from Tamiya were
used to build up the base color, including buff, deck tan, dark yellow and
shades of green. To deepen the colors I applied generous washes of burnt umber,
yellow ocre, dark green and olive green.
Pictures
were taken with a Nikon D70s and a Sigma 105mm EX DG macro lens, settings at ISO
200, F32 and 1 second exposure.
This
model won the Twin Trophy for the best Battle of Britain theme at the
recent Capcon 2007 show in
Ottawa
.
Hope
you enjoy.
