This was a rather hard model to
build
due to its many small parts and rigging.
Because of the tight fit, I had to
choose between building it "with" or "without" the cowl. I
choose the latter because of all the details that showed on the engine. To
make it easier to build, particularly around the engine, I used copper dowels with
super glue. I had to use a #80 drill bit, (the smallest available) to
drill the holes for the dowels, at the end of the smaller parts and also in the
mating parts. It was delicate and painstaking work, but, in the
end, the results were a stronger and neater assembly.

The propeller was scratchbuilt with
laminated layers of wood.
For the wires I used a 4 lb.
test fishing line. Not only for appearance, but, also to add strength to
the assembly. For the painting, I used "Humbrol" paints, and, as
for the markings, I used the decals that came with the kit.
The model depicts an F.2b "Brisfit"
of No.1 Sqn. Australian Flying Corp., Palestine, 1918. Pilot ??
