1/32 Revell P-38 Lightning

Greece Independence Day 2008

Yet another old Revell kit!  This time though, it was kinda awful... the parts just couldn't come together, so I decided to destroy it - in a good sense of course!  That's why some parts of the model are covered with tissue representing wax cloth used for protection or maintenance.  However the details at the engine bays were scratchbuilt using mainly copper wire and plastic card.  The kit was painted with Humbrol enamels paints and was very heavily weathered, since it represents an example resting in peace in some european junkyard after the war.  The little base was made of real soil blended with white glue.  I also used spare parts from other 1/32 kits.
