Turkish Remembrance of Ataturk and Youth Day 2008

The old Academy kit doesn't have a cockpit, but it has a nice airframe.  The kit provides fine engraved panel lines with rivet detail.  The construction goes smooth and doesn't need much filling & sanding.

I used inkjet printed custom decals for Turkish Air Force markings and squadron numbers.  Model Master enamels were sprayed  by freehand airbrushing.  I used Future to seal the paint.  After applying oil wash on panel lines,  the job was finished with Testors Dull Cote.

I've added some more detail to the main landing gear using copper wires.

I want to add some words about the aircraft represented by my model.  This aircraft was serving as a USAF Aggressor jet before she joined the Turkish Air Force.  After it was used as-is for a while with this blue scheme, painted to colors of common camouflage which other Turkish F-5s generally have.  I suppose this aircraft is still in service now, but I'm not sure.

As a modeler who has always been in love with Aggressor jets, this aircraft is so special to me, so I decided to build and gather my model as this uncommon but beautiful blue scheme jet.

Finally thanks everyone for looking.

Happy modeling!
