Hi there. This is the Revell model of the ill fated Boeing SST which had it flown would have been one of the largest and heaviest aircraft ever flown.  The political history of this machine has been well covered elsewhere so I will concentrate purely on the kit. Strictly speaking this is only one half of the model as it comes with two complete kits, one in landing config and one in supersonic cruise mode! Revell recently reissued the model as part of their 50yr celebration so it's now quite easy to come by (or was till recently).  My model is one of the original kits from 1968 and depicts the prototype in what I think is a beautiful scheme (very swinging (wing) sixties!).  The kit's quality is typical of the time ,well moulded in a kind of yellow/mustard colour and is broken down into easy bits for us to put together. It has the feel of a desktop model to it so some detailing will be in order to make it look the part.

I haven't seen any of these built up in any magazines or at any shows though I'm sure plenty of people have one, in my case I have 7! The decals for mine were water and light damaged and unusable but Jeff Thompsen of Draw Decal came to the rescue with his set of superb silk screen decals for the prototype ( they do many other airlines under the name 'flights of fancy') which went on perfectly.  These decals are really top quality.

Thanks for the help Jeff!

The kit goes together really easily and I managed to build and finish it in a day. The only things to watch out for are the undercarriage alignment and lining up the fuselage so do it slowly with superglue and accelerator.

I love this aircraft and can only imagine what the sight and sound of this monster would have been like at the worlds airports! ( don't know how many airports could have handled it !!!!).

Thanks for looking ,hope you enjoy it ,

Andy
