I wanted to share with you some
pictures of my growing collection of Soviet Air force jets in 1/72 scale. They
are shown here displayed at the Cincinnati Ohio Scale contest October 2008. The
total count is 63 aircraft (there are 2 prop planes and one fictitious jet ( Mig
Ferret ) ). I started building this collection about 3 years ago. I have built
some many years ago an old PM model Yak 15 and then a Mig 21 ( oddly for my other
collection of Israeli Air Force planes ). Then something just got me going and I
started
building at a very fast pace. So now there are 61 built versions of jets going
back to 1945 vintage such as the original Su-9 ( looks like a version of the
Me-262 ), some BI-1 Rocket planes with one on skies and then going thru the 50's
with the Yaks, Migs then the 60s with the Tupolevs, Suchois, more Migs then the
70's, 80' and 90's such as the Mig 17, 19 and 21 versions, also Suchois SU-7
thru 35, Mig 29s, Some Heavy Tupolev Bombers and then the next generations
planes such as the S.37 and Mig 1.41

I have just about exhausted all of the
injection molded kits and had to resort to converting some kits and
modifying others. I have about 30 more kits to go and then I will either
stop or look to resin models of odd planes to continue the series.
All in all, this is a fun project; a
one person group build. I'm also building other series such as the Swedish Saab
jets, Luft 46, Israeli AF and any 1/32 scale plane that is reasonable in price.
Hope you get inspired
Isaac
