1/48 Hasegawa F-15J 02-8919

I started this build 2 years ago during the F-15 Group Build. I planned 4 jets, managed to only finish one, before work stopped halfway on this jet. Deciding it was time to clear it off my workbench, I took it out and am happy to say that it is now finished... (ie, my workbench has more space).

Being a bit more conscious of the detail, I decided 2 years ago that the Hasegawa bottom fuselage was totally off and had rescribed the entire thing to the correct panel lines, using a Revell F-15E as a rough reference. Two years on, this carried on and I used a Black Box seat in the pit, cast copies of the wing pylons, centreline fuselage tank and centreline pylon from the Revell F-15E for use, and also added an Aires nozzle set. Decals came from Twobobs. For the wing pylons, some detail was also added by removing the area around the mountings. Lastly, I added True Details bulged F-15 wheels.

I followed the colours as called for on the Hasegawa instruction sheet for the F-15J "Aggressor" kit, but tweaked the purplish-light gray colour with a mk1 eyeball.

Hope you enjoy it.

David
