With the War in Iraq, there have been many, many missions flown by the USN F-14's.... providing much needed air support.

This particular decal sheet provides markings for 2 of these F-14.  This decal sheet features two F-14's that were operating over Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The first plane is an F-14 D #164600.  This plane is the F-14D Skippers Bird and is with VF-31 off the USS Abraham Lincoln in winter 2002 and spring 2003.  This plane is covered with some bright colourful markings.  It has a black nose cone and black canopy area.  The tail is covered in red with black text and black at the top of the tail tips.  This jet has 11 bombing mission markings.

The second plane is an F-14D plane #164343 with VF-31 off the USS Abraham Lincoln  in winter 2002 and spring 2003. This plane is also an Iraqi War Hero.  This plane has the same low viz 2 tone gray paint scheme with black highlights in the paint scheme as the first plane on this decal sheet.  There is the Squadron artwork on the tail of the Cat carrying a round bomb with a lit fuse.  This jet has 19 bomb mission markings and one gun sortie mission markings...... possibly for a strafing run.  There is also the name "Ms Heidi" on the side of the nose cone.

The decals themselves are clearly printed in perfect register.  The clear carrier film around the decals is at a minimum, so this should give the best results.  The colors are solid and should give perfect coverage without any worry of underlying paint showing through.

The 3 pages of instruction provide all the information you'll need to complete either of these plane and include FS paint #'s.

This is an excellent decal sheet and one that is sure to be popular with the many fans of the F-14.  I highly recommend this decal sheet to all F-14 modelers wanting to capture some very current history.
