Here's a review of a
new release from Twobobs.
This sheet features markings for two
complete aircraft from the 57th FW of the Nellis AFB Fighter
Weapons School.
Fifty years ago the 57th
Wing became a permanent establishment while stationed at Elmendorf AFB,
Alaska. The mission of the 57th Wing is to provide advanced
aerospace training to worldwide combat air forces and showcase aerospace
to the world.
To accomplish its diverse
mission, the Wing overseas the dynamic and challenging missions for all
flying operations at Mellis AFB, including USAF Weapons School,
"Red Flag", "Air Warrior" training and the Air
Warfare Center's test and evaluation activities.
The Wing manages flying
operations and aircraft maintenance at Nellis AFB through six assigned
units: the 57th Operations Group, 57th Logistics Group, USAF Weapons
School, USAF Air Ground Operations, USAF Air Demonstration Squadron
(Thunderbirds) and 57th Wing Director of Tactics.

The
first aircraft is an F-15C Eagle S/N 83-0041 with the 57th
Wing in March 2007. This is a two tone lo viz gray Eagle
painted in FS 36176 Dark Gray and FS 36251 Light Gray.
This aircraft has yellow and black checkered fin flashes at the
top of the tails with a big black "WA" with white
outlines on the outside of the
tails.
The second aircraft
is an F-15C Eagle S/N 80-0002 with the 57th Wing in March
2007. This is a two tone lo viz gray Eagle painted in FS
36176 Dark Gray and FS 36251 Light Gray. This aircraft
has yellow and black checkered fin flashes at the top of the tails
with a big black "WA" on the outside of the tails.
The decals are up
to the usual high quality we expect from Twobobs and include 2
full sets of stencils Some decals have a white decal to go
under the colorful decals to ensure the colors are full and
vibrant.
This is a great
decal sheet of these Eagles as the 57th reaches their 50th
anniversary.
The instructions are clear and
include 4 views of each aircraft. The decals are beautifully printed on 1
decal sheet. Paint codes are called out in FS #'s, Testors MM,
Humbrol, Gunze Sangyo and Xtracrylics.
I would like to thank Twobobs
for this review sample.
This sheet is available through
the Twobobs
website and select US Hobby Shops. Overseas customers can purchase these from
Twobobs site or through Twobobs network of overseas distributors.
