Decal sheet product # 72-010

--------------------

This latest release from Lifelike Decals decal sheet features three different P-47's.  This is Part 3 of  a series dealing with the P-47's including 2 with sexy noseart.

The 3 aircraft include one in olive drab and 2 in bare metal.  American P-47's from WW2 were well known for noseart and colorful markings to help them stand out as the numbers of Allied fighters began to dominate the skies over occupied Europe.

  • P-47D-1-RE, 42-7945, QP D flown by Lt. Spiros "the Greek" Pisanos of 334FS, 4FG, Spring 1943 out of Debden.  Paint scheme is Olive drab with white accents and sexy noseart.

  • P-47D-25-RE, 42-26628, LM C flown by Capt. Frederick Christensen Jr.,  of 362FS, 56FG, July 1944 out of Boxted.  Paint scheme is Bare metal with underside D-Day stripes, yellow rudder and red nose cowl ring and sexy nude noseart and the script "Rozzie Geth II".

  • P-47D-15-RE, 42-76165, HL C flown by hack aircraft 83FS, 78FG, out of Duxford.  Paint scheme is Bare metal with white rudder with red outline and red outline stripes on the forward fuselage and black and white checkered engine cowl.

The quality of these decals is of good quality although the tiny 1/72 stencils were not as clear as I usually see from Lifelike Decals, so I would suggest not using the stencils on this decal sheet.
