This latest release
from Twobobs includes 4 different F/A-18E's from VFA-115
from NAS Lemoore in sunny
California.
The new 2009 CAG jet from VFA-115 is the
highlight of this sheet! Included is a full set of stencil data for this specific aircraft.
The balance of the sheet includes markings that Twobobs had previously released of the aircraft that deployed from the USS Stennis during Operation Enduring Freedom following the 9/11 attacks on the US. These markings were previously sized to the Italeri kit but have been redone to
accommodate both the newer Revellogram and Hasegawa offerings.
These special 9/11
markings include:
Jet #203 which has
line drawing noseart showing the soles of the feet of a corpse laid out on a
slab with a toe tag reading "Osama".
Jet #210 has line
drawing noseart of a FDNY badge with the word below it reading "NEVER
FORGET"
Jet #212 has line
drawing noseart of a front view of an F/A-18E and above both wings lists the 4
fatal flights from 9/11 and below the F/A-18E are the words "HIJACK
THIS!"
I must say the
artwork on these 3 jets makes them all winners in my books and the CAG jet with
it's colorful tail markings and red/white and blue national insignia is
also a real beauty. I'd be torn to decide which one to build.

The instructions are clear and
include 4 views of each aircraft. The decals are beautifully printed on 2 decal
sheets. Paint codes are called out in FS #'s, Testors MM, Humbrol, Gunze Sangyo and
Xtracrylics.
One complete set of stencil data is included for the line jets from 2001
as well as a complete set of stencils for the colourful CAG jet and some of these aircraft carry
mission markings.
