Product # AS48 SCH for £5.25

Product Article by Steve Bamford on Sept 6 2011

This new release from airscale gives you hundreds of multi-colour placards & dataplates as found in Luftwaffe aircraft from the 30’s & 40’s.

Essential for cockpit instrument panels, sidewalls, FuG radios, throttle & flap quadrants and oxygen/air cylinders etc.

This decal sheet incldues Manufacturer Dataplates for Junkers, Messerschmitt, Focke-Wulf, Henschel, plus cockpit ancillary manufacturers such as Bosch, Lorenz and Askania

Each placard is individual and separate on the decal sheet with a minimum of carrier film

This decal sheet is also available in 1/24 and 1/32 scales.

The decals are very clearly printed and in perfect register although in 1/48 scale it is impossible to read the tiny writing and that is perfectly understandable.

The 2 pages of instructions are clear and include all necessary info about these decals, although cockpit photos will assist you on what decal you want to put where.

Multi-colour placards & dataplates are a critical part of any cockpit in 1/48 as well as the larger scales and I'm thrilled to see these new decals being released.  airscale caters very well to the scale modelling community with their instrument panel decals and now these new placards & dataplate decals will be a big hit with scale modellers looking for that extra level of perfection in their cockpit.  I'm quite pleased to see their line of decals continuing to expand.

I would like to thank airscale for providing me with this review sample.

You can buy these and other individual instrument and instrument panel decals directly from the airscale website.

Airscale also offers a large variety of cockpit instrument panel decals in a  variety of scales and for an ever growing variety of aircraft that can be used either;

  • Behind kit instrument panel parts, mounted on a backplate
  • Applied on top of a kit panel.  (Decal setting solutions may be required)

Drop by their website and have a look at all their products.
