Mark Chen has done a flawless job on his 1/48 Tamiya F-16C Block 40.  Mark backdated a Block 50 F-16 to a  Block 40 and then gave it just the right amount of weathering before using aftermarket decals for a jet that was involved in Operation Allied Force.

Tolga ULGUR is here with another of his super detail gems.  This is his 1/48 Tamiya P-47 D28 Thunderbolt and it is loaded with scratchbuilt and aftermarket detail items.

Hot Babe of the Week!  this week  from Twobobs are some detail images of an ALQ-188 Pod that I took back in 2000. These pics will come in handy for any aggressor aircraft you're building since they typically carry the 188 pod on their missions when emulating enemy aircraft. Enjoy!  Bob

Mark L. Rossmann is here on the anniversary if the date the Korean War Cease fire was signed on July 27th, 1953. On this historic anniversary Mark is here with his 45th TRS Korea article featuring his RF-51.  Mark tells the history from that time period as well as all he did when building this special RF-51.

Wiggy has been on quite the challenging but enjoyable ride with his 1/32 Williams Brother's 1932 Springfield BULLDOG Racer.  Wiggy modified his racer and did plenty of detailing such as wiring the engine compartment.  I really do like the look of this little racer.

Steve Negley has done a gorgeous job building and finishing his 1/48 Monogram Vought F-8E Crusader.  Steve gave his Crusader a full weapons load and posed it on a carrier deck ready for it's next mission.  I love the look of this Vietnam era jet.

  Liberia Independence Day

  Maldives Independence Day

Paul Coppin starts things off today with a rare bird.  This is his 1/48 Revell He-111-H22, which is the V-1 launching He-111.  Paul chose a very sharp looking camo scheme complete with black underside.  This is an excellent kit and in Paul's skilled hands it came out looking flawless.

  Egypt National Day

This weeks Twobobs Newsletter is up.  Bob has images of the latest releases....which include Harriers, Candy Cane F-15's, Greek F-16's and Aggressor F-5's.  Wow.....so much to choose from......Bob has outdone himself with this batch of new sheets.

Jean-Paul Wrona had a good time building the 1/72 Hobbyboss Chance Vought F4U-1 Corsair.  Jean-Paul chose a Corsair with sexy noseart to finish his bent wing bird for a groupbuild.  Noseart always looks good.

Benner has taken the 1/48 Tamiya F-117A Nighthawk and added a Black Box resin cockpit to make his own stealth jet.  The things that really stands out about Benner's Nighthawk is his choice of a slightly lightened black color.  This helps to show off the very angular lines of his F-117.  This is one fine looking Nighthawk .

Gabriel Stern is taking it easy this week and building a model from a styrene  kit.  This is his 1/72 Heller Caudron Simoun which is a very cool and slightly odd looking design.  It's a plane that entered a race in Egypt in 1937.

Here is a product article for the new 1/48 Kawasaki Ki-100 Exhaust from QuickBoost.

Here is a product article for the new 1/72 De Havilland Vampire F Mk.1 from Czech Master Resin - CMR Models.

Tony Granata begins your Thursday update with one very sharp looking 1/144 Revell B-52G Stratofortress.  Tony goes into some very helpful detail about painting the B-52 and building this kit in particular.  I love the weapons load his B-52 is carrying.

Wally Civitico has taken the resin 1/72 Liberty Models Resin Buffalo model kit and built it into a Buffalo he saw in Halim Jakarta in 2000.  To complete this build Wally made his own decals....with great success I might add.  I do like the look of a Buffalo in Indonesian markings.

David Rapasi joins us today with a Corsair you don't see that often.  This is his 1/48 Tamiya F4U-1 Corsair I built as a British Corsair with clipped wings to fit on the British carriers.  And of course Dave gave it one of his stunning weathering jobs.

  Belgium Independence Day

Micheal gets things off to a fine start today with his beautifully done 1/32 Promodeler BF-109G4.  I'm not sure what it is....but the paint scheme on this 109 really caught my eye.....I definitely like the way it turned out.

Rafi Ben-Shahar has done an outstanding job finishing his 1/48 Hasegawa TA-4J Skyhawk Navy Trainer.  Rafi's Skyhawk has a nose "borrowed" from an Aggressor Skyhawk and shows the first signs of outdoor static display deterioration.  The weathering effect is bang on and looks perfect.

Jerry Hawhee (Old Blind Dog) had a grand time building the 1/72 Tamiya N1K1-J Shiden "George".  Jerry has built three of these over the year, so he has some very insightful pointers about avoid any pitfalls.  The finished model captures the look of this formidable fighter very well.

No update today.

Friday,   July 16  2010
Carmel J Attard gets things stated today with his 1/72 Wings 72 Nakajima E8N 1 &2 ‘Dave’.  Some of us fear vac-form kits and some of us fear bi-plane kits because of the rigging........this is a vac-formed bi-plane kit.  And if if that wasn't enough work, Carmel scratchbuilt the launching trolley and cradle assembly.  Plus this is a beautiful sight to see this delicate looking Japanese bi-plane floatplane.

Denis COUDERT is here with one of my favourite Canadian Hornets.  This is his beautifully done 1/144 Revell CF-18 Hornet which is a small model but the decals are quite good and the kit itself is quite the nice little kit.  As you can see by his photos it does build into a great model.  Everyone ion Canada will be smiling today.

Jerry Hawhee (Old Blind Dog) joins us with his very well detailed 1/72 Hasegawa F4F-3 Wildcat.  Jerry added a resin cockpit and wheels wells to dress up his Wildcat.  A great build of a classic fighter, I love it.

Hot Babe of the Week!  this week  from Twobobs are some Vipers from 2005 when the Hoolings with the 119th were still flying them. These guys are Predator operators now. Long live the ADF Viper. Courtesy of Don Logan.  Bob

Jinoo Koo has done an exceptionally nice job building and painting his 1/72 Revell Fw-190F-8.  He then created a desert diorama to display his Fw-190.  The scene in his diorama brings his model to life perfectly.  I can almost feel the heat in the air and the dust on the ground.

Rodrigo Rendon is here with a very special diorama that he built for a friend.  This is his 1/144 Dragon F/A-18E and Carrier Deck diorama complete with a full weapons load and carrier deck crew members.  The flight deck and F-18 are flawlessly weathered.  I love the look of this one.

rogue one is here with his first ever plane model.  He picked the 1/48 Revell Spitfire Mk.IX as his first model, everyone loves the Spitfire.  One very impressive feature of this Spitifre is the hand painted noseart.......not many of us would attempt this or get such good results on our first model.  Keep at it rogue one, you have natural talent.

Daniel Colombi has put much effort into his first model on ARC.  This is his big and beautiful 1/32 Hasegawa A4-AR Fightinghawk C-905.  This A-4 is modified to make it an Argentina Air Force A-4 and the work did require plenty of careful scratchbuilding including a scratchbuilt vac-u-formed canopy.  Beautiful work Daniel.  Welcome to ARC Daniel, I look forward to seeing more of your article on ARC in the future.

David Rapasi joins us with another of his masterfully painted and weathered beauties.  This is his late war 1/48 Tamiya FW 190-A8 and if you look carefully at the photos in his article, you will notice this plane is a mixture of salvaged parts from other aircraft.

 Argentina Independence Day

Gil Gregg (aka DutyCat) has been bust doing a huge amount of modifying to his 1/72 Fujimi VFA-86 F-18C Hornet.  I am quite impressed with the level of modifications Gil did on his Hornet.....if you've ever tried to drop the flaps on a Hornet you know this is a major undertaking.  The finished model is well worth checking out.

Michael Presley had a grand time building his 1/48 Eduard Yakovlev Yak-3.  This kit is loaded with goodies, but Michael did scratchbuild a few items for added detail, before painting and weathering his little Russian fighter.

http://www.alclad2.com/

Juan Jesús Moreno joins us with his 1/48 Tamiya Bf-109E7.  This particular yellow nosed 109 is finished in Russian Front markings and weathering.  It's neat to see a Russian front yellow nosed 109E as most models are of the BOB yellow nosed E's.  Juan is a very skilled modeller as you will see when you view his photos.

Baran Cakmak has been busy with the Alclad II metal paints.  This is his 1/72 Amodel Yak-27R "mangrove" with a  Neomega resin KK-2 ejection seat to dress up the cockpit and a multi shade baremetal finish to get the perfect look.  A great looking model of this Russian jet.

Guy Wilson joins us with his big beautiful 1/32 Hasegawa Spitfire Vb.  Guy built his lovely looking Spitfire OOB in the desert scheme, which always looks great.  The Spitfire is a naturally beautiful aircraft and Guy's Spitfire is a beauty from every angle.

Zenden Ng has been busy building the 1/72 Kitech EA-6B Prowler.  It doesn't have the same fit as a Tamiya kit but the price sure was good.  Zenden finished this great looking Prowler as a heavily weathered aircraft.

That being said, here you go. I got these walk-arounds a couple of years ago on a business trip to Nellis AFB. The T-Bird guys there were nice enough to let me hang with them in their MX hangar and let me crawl around one of their jets. Good stuff.

Gabriel Stern joins us today with his vacuformed Execuform 1/72 Abrams Explorer.  There is no doubt about it.......this is one odd looking aircraft design.....pusher engine, glass nose and twin tail boom.  Gabriel tells the story of building this little jewel and he provides plenty of photos of the build process to help explain it all perfectly.  It always looks so easy when he does it.

Zsolt Szivak is here with a beautifully finished 1/48 Hasegawa F-14A Tomcat.  This F-14 sports the markings of the Bounty Hunters along wiht some very mild weathering to bring the model to life.  Gotta' love those red, white and blue stripes.......I'll never grow tired of that.

Gary Adams got everything looking just right on his late war 1/48 Hasegawa FW 190A-8.  Gary's 190 wears a paint scheme indicating this aircraft was patched together using donor parts from different aircraft.  A very cool effect and quite accurate towards the end of the war.  Very nicely done Gary....I love it.

Yufei Mao joins us from sunny warm China with his 1/48 Trumpeter J-10A.  Yufei added quite a few aftermarket detail items to his J-10, but it is his skill as a modeller that pulled this whole project together in the detailed masterpiece you will see in his photos.  I always enjoy seeing Yufei's latest model.

Happy Canada Day to all the ARC Canucks

Shawn "phantom" Weiler gets Canada Day 2010 started off on the right foot with his 1/48 Airfix CT-155 Hawk Snowbird.  Shawn actually has two Snowbirds to show you and one is equipped with sidewinders......which he explains in his article.  Happy Canada Day Shawn.

Charlie 'Cheetah' Arsenault is here with his award winning 1/32 Academy CF-188A Hornet.  Charlie has done a stunning job on his big CF-188 with the help of some aftermarket detail items......but mostly it is just Charlie's skill that makes this Canadian Hornet so magnificent.

Baran Cakmak joins us on Canada Day from Turkey with his 1/48 Airfix Hawk 100 finished in Canadian markings.  Baran added a cockpit set to improve the 2 seater cockpit before finishing his Hawk with the beautifully applied gloss blue finish.

Shawn "Phantom" Weiler is here with not one but two Canadian Sabres.  These are his 1/48 Academy and Hasegawa Canadair F-86 Sabres in bare metal finishes.  One has the engine exposed and the other is in-flight.....they both look excellent.

Nick Moore is here with a product article of the 1/48  Special Hobby Morane-Saulnier Type AI from Hobby Link Japan.

I have a product article for the new 1/48 F-16C Barak cockpit set from Aires.
