Bjφrn Leichsenring is here with his 7th article on ARC.  This is his 1/144 Aodel Antonov AN-2T Anna wearing the markings for the GDR.  Although this is a 1/144 model, Bjφrn still added extra detailing to improve his model....which is quite amazing.

Ian Buick has complete 2 more 1/72 RoG RAF Typhoons to add to his outstanding collection of RAF Typhoons.  The Typhoon is a beautiful looking jet and Ian's Typhoon display is quite the satisfying sight to see.  Enjoy his photos...I know I did.

Turkey Republic Day

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

Tolga Ulgur joins us from Turkey to honour  Turkey Republic Day with his stunning 1/32 Revell Messerschmitt Bf 109G 10 Erla.  Tolga used a variety of aftermarket detail items and then finish his 109 in a weathered camo that is quite interesting....the underside of the wings are bare metal.  This it Tolga's 83rd model on ARC and you can see his other models by clicking the link at the bottom of this article.  All his models are spectacular.

Keith Chambers is a master at Egg Planes and this Grade A Large Hasegawa F/A-18 Hornet Egg Plane which was modified by opening the cockpit and adding detail.  Keith also added a weapons load to his Hornet before giving it a shape looking desert camo.

Luqmanul Hakim is here with his first model on ARC and what a masterpeice it is.  This is the 1/700 Trumpeter USS Ronald Reagan CVN-76 modified from  the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72 with many added details including LED hanger deck lighting....yup...this is 1/700 with hanger deck detail and lighting plus crew members on the flight deck.  This is a very impressive model and the photos will show you all the glorious detail that is packed in this tiny carrier.  Welcome to ARC.  

Steve Bamford & Tony Feredo are here with photos from our recent trip to Lils Hobby Center in metro Manila.  This was the first time Tony and I had a chance to meet after knowing each other through ARC for many years.  If you are ever in Manila...you should check out Lils Hobby Center...great selection and friendly helpful staff.

Phillip Steele is here in style with his Swiss air ambulance 1/72 Revell EC145 Rega.  Phillip found this kit required some careful attention during the build process, but there is no doubt his patience paid off with a great looking model of this attractive air ambulance.  I'm pleased to say this is his 31st article on ARC.

Hristo Krumov joins us with his second article on ARC and what a beauty this one is.  This is his 1/144 Northrop YF-17 'Cobra'.   Hristo did some extra work on his YF-17 before finishing it in a very attractive camo scheme.  I love the look of this Cobra.

Shawn "phantom" Weiler is here with a very rare B-25.  This is his 1/48 Pro Modeller RCAF VIP B-25 Mitchell in all it's glory.  Shawn did some special mods to make this special VIP Mitchell.  This is very cool to see Shawn.

Burt Gustafson joins us with 22 photos of his sleek looking 1/48 Trumpeter Su-15 Flagon A.  Burt built his Flagon with a bare metal finish in Russian markings and then finished it off with 4 missiles to show the true mission of this interceptor.  Beautiful work Burt.

Bjφrn Leichsenring starts today with some good looking photos of his tiny 1/144 Miniwings Grumman F11F-1 Tiger.  Bjφrn gave his Tiger a bare metal finsih and some very colourful markings.  Bjφrn has built some other 1/144 models and you can check them out using the link at the bottom of his article.

Alacran joins us with his beautifully weathered 1/72 Revell P-47D-30Alacran used a variety of aftermarket detail items to improve upon the Revell kit and then finished it off as a particular Chilean P-47 using different decal sheets.  It's a great looking Jug and it's very cool to see a Chilean P-47.

Wlad Franco-Valias has done a stellar job on his 1/48 Special Hobby Seafire XV.  Wlad built his Seafire with some added details and then finished it in some bright markings for a Royal Canadian Navy fighter.  This is definitely an attractive looking Canadian Seafire and I'm pleased to see it on ARC.

Dragan Cvetic has a passion for great looking camo schemes and I love the look of this latest Fishbed.  This is Dragon's 1/144 Eduard MiG-21 SMT with some added photo etch detailing and finished in a great looking camo scheme.  Dragan has also included another of his MiG-21's in his article.

Dennis Mathes begins today with his 1st article on ARC. Dennis did a huge amount of work on the older 1/32 Revell F-16C Fighting Falcon and turned it into quite the detail rich model complete with full weapons load.  Dennis has been a long term member on the ARC forums and it's great to see his first model on ARC.

Kees Kuyper is here with the first ARCAir Airline model. This is his 1/72 Matchbox Dornier 28T finished with custom markings for the world most loved airline...ARC Air.  I really like this concept....it's cool to see.

Burt Gustafson has done a stunning job on his 1/48 Eduard Mk. IXc Spitfire Weekend Edition.  Burt found this kit to be a bit more than a weekend build but his finished model does look very good.  He chose the markings for a Czech pilot, which looks very good.

Shawn "phantom" Weiler is here with his sharp looking 1/48 Hasegawa A-4E Skyhawk Bad guy.  Shawn got the markings from Fightertown decals.  It's quite the good looking Skyhawk.

Mark L. Rossmann is here with a double header today.  This is his 1/48 Tamiya A6M2 Zero and 1/48 Tamiya A6M2-N Rufe that he built about 20 years ago and recently restored  to the beauties you see here today.  The finished models do look excellent and were well worth the effort.  Beautiful work Mark.

Dirk Schenk joins us with his second article on ARC.  This is his shape looking 1/72 Airfix Meteor wearing it's classical ww2 camo.  Dirk finished it as a clean looking bird...which looks quite good.

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

Prokopis Kroustallis joins us from Greece with his 7th article on ARC.  This is his 1/48 Tamiya F-84G built out of the box with a stunning bare metal finish and after market decals for a Hellenic jet.   Prokopis has also included some history about the Greek F-84G.  I love the look of this Hellenic F-84.


Carmel J. Attard did a magnificent job modifying the 1/72 Revell PBY-6A Catalina to be a post war Danish flying boat.  The Danes used different engines and added radar and Carmel explains all these tiny mods in his article.  The build and conversion is impressive, but what me sit up and grin was his weathering job.  This Catalina really is a beauty.

Anniversary of X-1 Supersonic Flight - Oct 14 1947

WW1 Events - this date in  1915

Sean Langley has done a wonderful job on the classic 1/32 Hasegawa F-5e Tiger II.  Sean added scratchbuilt seatbelts to dress up the cockpit and then did some other mods to finish up his Freedom Fights before giving it a weapons load and an attractive Brazilian camo scheme with a great weathering job.

Tolga άlgόr has done a stellar job on his 1/32 Tamiya Spitfire MK.IXE.  Tolga added aftermarket goodies to detail the cockpit including replacing the cockpit door and seat and then dressing up the instrument panel with excellent results.  This is a Turkish Spitfire that was done using custom decals and painting for the markings and then given a first class weathering job.  It doesn't get much better than this.  Excellent work Tolga.

US Navy's birthday

M.J.Gormley is here with a very special Thunderbird model today.  This is Mark's 1/48 Trumpeter F-100D “Thunderbird” and included in his photo is a childhood photo of Mark wearing a miniature flight suit made by his Mom and standing next to his fighter pilot Dad as they pose beside a Thundebird F-100.  How cool is that!!!


Phillip Steele has done an amazing amount of scratchbuilt detailing on his eye catching 1/72 Airfix De Havilland 82.a Tiger Moth.  Phillip added detailing to the cockpit and the exterior with excellent results.  It really is impressive what detailing you can do with scratchbuilding and some patience and determination.

Kees Kuyper gets things started with his very interesting 1/72 Matchbox Dornier 28V.  This Dornier has a V tail and retractable landing gear and is in the markings for an ARC air Ambulance.  Well done Kees....I love it!!!

Thomas Brόckelt is here with a very special bird from the Me 163 Komet family.  This is his 1/72 Bird Models Lippisch P.01-112 wearing custom markings and a bright red paint job.  Thomas reworked his model to make it more accurate to the original drawings with very good results.  Very nicely done Thomas.

Wlad Franco-Valias is here with his sixth article on ARC and I'm very pleased to see it on ARC.  This is his beautifully done 1/48 Special Hobby Seafire Mk 15 finished his Seafire to a very high standard and gave it markings for a Canadian fighter.  Wlad tell the history behind the Canadian Seafires as well as what was involved to built this great looking Seafire model.  Beautiful work Wlad!!!   


Andreas Gordes joins us today with his 10th article on ARC.  This is the 1/72 Platz AC-4 Northrop Grumman RQ-4B finished as a NASA drone with flawless painting.  Andreas has other models relating to NASA and you can see photos of these in his article.  Beautiful work Andreas.

Michael "ApolloMan" Jack starts today with his 1/144 Monogram Shuttle CHALLENGER STS-61A with scratch built Mobile Launcher and Crawler Transporter that was built to honor the Challenger crew that lost their lives in 1986.  Michael used thousands of scratchbuilt parts to create this masterpiece and it is one of the most overwhelming modelling projects I've ever seen.  Michael completed this project with the highest level of skill and the final models are amazing to look at.  WOW!!!


Shawn "phantom" Weiler is here with his very ambitious latest project.  This is Shawn's 1/48 CC-130J Hercules that he built by combining 2 kits to get the new stretched look of the newest RCAF Hercs.  Shawn cut up the fuselage of an older built to get the fuselage sections to extend the new kit to the stretched look.  This was quite the project and Shawn has included some in-progress photos to give you a better idea of what was involved to pull this whole project together.

Greg Kerry is here with a very cool diorama of British soldier overrunning a WW2 V-1 facility.  Greg use the 1/72 Frog V-1s and an Airfix Kubelwagen. 


Dragan Cvetic has done a very convincing job on the well known 1/48 Roden OV-1 Mohawk.  Dragan added seat belts and finished his great looking Mohawk as a US army bird.

Tolga άlgόr is an exceptional modeller and I'm very pleased to show you his 81st model here on ARC.  This is his 1/48 Tamiya P-47D40 with Ultracast wheels and Eduard photos etch to give his Jug just that perfect level of detail.  He then chose the markings from Barracudacal for “Big stud” with it's eye catching checkered tail. Sit back and enjoy Tolga's P-47.

China.sunyu is a regular on the ARC Fourms and I'm please to show you his first model in the ARC gallery section.  This is the 1/48 Hasegawa A-4F finished to a beautiful level.  I loved the paint finishing and cockpit detailing.  Welcome to ARC China.sunyu , I hope to see more of your models on ARC in the future.

Kit has done an outstanding job on the 1/48 Eduard P-38J.  The Eduard kits has added photo etch, but what is spectacular about this P-38 is the faded paint and weathering job.  I'm deeply impressed how well this P-38 looks. 

Sertac Bayar is here with a very exciting diorama of his 1/48 Italeri (Kinetic) F-16D Block 50 lifting off from a runway.  The weathering looks fantastic and the scene of this much loved jet lifting off from a runway is a thrill to see.

M.J.Gormley is here to start your Friday update with a very special 1/48 Monogram F-105D Thunderchief.  This 105 is done in the markings of the jet that Mark's Dad flew over North Vietnam for 100 missions. His Dad's jet had special nose art that you can see in his photos.  Beautiful work Mark.


Andreas Gordes "Goggo" is here with a very rare Reaper.  This drone is the 1/72 Skunkmodels General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper wearing the markings for a NASA bird. I love the look of this Reaper model.

Kim Wu is here to honour the National Day in China with this flawless 1/48 Trumpeter PLAF J-10A Vigorous Dragon.  This is Kim's first model on ARC and what a beauty it is.  I hope to see more models from Kim in the future.  Welcome to ARC Kim....it's good to have a J-10 on ARC on this special day in China. 


Greg Kerry is here with another of his in-action scenes.  This is his 1/72 Revell Focke Wulf 190 F-8 attacking a pair of S-model British Crusaders. Greg did quite the nice job on the desert camo on his 190 as you will see in his photos.  Beautiful work Greg.


Ramon R. Lomeli joins us with his stunning 1/48 Academy Su-27 Flanker.  Ramon used a very creative approach to the pre-shading that he explains in his article.  Once he got it all painted and weathered.....he finished it off as a Russian jet in that classic camo scheme.  I love the way it looks.
