Silly Week 2011

In 1947 extra terrestrial debris were found on a farm outside of Roswell New Mexico. Numerous attempts were made by the military to use the technology but there were no great successes. When all possible uses for the technology were thought to be exhausted, it was decided to scrap the material. Then someone said "Hey, why don’t we race um!" This was so popular that the aliens made themselves know and became popular pilots in the Alien Racing Coalition (ARC).

This is the Pegasus hobbies kit. There are two complete kits in the box. I built the first one as a more traditional UFO. With the second kit I wanted to do something different. I made a base from a plastic box picture frame and added 1:24 crew members from the Tamiya Rally Mechanics set. I used pinewood derby dry transfers for most of the decals.

This was a fun project. It is nice to unleash the Silly. Thanks to ARC for Silly week each year.
