This is Monograms
B-26 1/48 scale kit with the Meteor Productions B-26K resin set. The set
includes nose, rudder, wing stations and all the antennas associated with this
aircraft. The Meteor set includes the resin wheels and the square tipped props
which require grafting onto the kit hubs and the tip tanks. I also used the
excellent resin Pratt & Whitney R-2800's late version from Quickboost.

Other modifications
required the installation of a second pilot seat and controls for the left seat.
Some add-ons were placed in the observer's area. Meteor instructions were
excellent, and provided exact spacing of the wing stations as they were not
spaced evenly down the wing. Meteor also included the correct engine cowls with
air intakes for the "K" series of the B-26 used later in Southeast
Asia. All the ordinance came from the spares box.
Testors Model Master
paints were used through out. Weathering was completed with oils and pastels.
This completes my
build of the B-26 Invader series of aircraft. Of the six I've built, they
have all been sold to people attending hobby shows I've entered around the
southeast. I have one kit remaining in 1/48th scale, the Monogram
Kingfisher also completed with the Meteor resin set, and to be perched on
Lone Star Models excellent P-6 catapult. I have switched to 1/32nd
scale and really enjoy working on the big boys.
