1/48 Vought F-8J
Crusader VF-211,Hasegawa+extras Hello.
This
is my Hasegawa's F-8J Crusader VF-211 "Fighting Checkmates", pilot CAG Paul
Stephenson, USS Hancock 1974. The kit have Aires/Eduard cockpit, Aires wheel
bays, Eduard landing gears details, Aires exhaust nozzle, Wolf Pack air scoops,
lower section of fuselage between main landing gear doors and missile
rails. Deck section is from Hasegawa's F-8E with "bonus item"
stickered box from e-bay.

Colors
are: upper surfaces GSI 315 aqua, lower surfaces Revell Semi Matt
White 301, landing gears, doors too. Decals are combination of Aeromaster Colorful
Crusaders pt. IV and from Hasegawa's box. For painting of the windshield and canopy
I used Eduard Express Masks. Some parts, mainly in wing bay are
handmade. First and
second fixing layer of cote is Tamiya Gloss, third finish layer is Humbrol Satin
Cote. Wash is Mig Production Neutral Wash.
Building of
this kit has running
fine, except
work with canopy in open position, it's thin for the back of fuselage, very bad
work, and completed wing with slats, flaps fixed into wing bay in open
position. Effort with kit has been. In my opinion, many of the older 1/48
Hasegawa
kits are better. And in my opinion too, the kit ratio price/details/technology of
parts/construction of kit/decals is for me 80%. Crusader is my no.1 US plane,
I'm
very glad about them, that I finished them to this form. Thank
You.
