1/48 Tamiya P-51D

Hello everyone this is my Tamiya P51-D of the 1st Fighter Squadron, 2nd Air Commando Group 10th U.S. Army Air Force Kalaikunda, India, 1945. I actually Built this kit back in 2010.

As with most Tamiya kits the fit was excellent.  The decals are from an old Fujimi kit and I used mainly Tamiya paints on this bird.  I made this P-51 slightly weathered using artist oils to high light the panel lines.  I used different shades of aluminium for the rudder and ailerons to break up the over all alumimium paint job which overall I am pleased with the results.  Also I added a seat harness to the cockpit which I made out of strips of old photo etch that I had spare.
