Revell’s newly tooled Spitfire Mk.IIa needs a lot of corrections and modifications though it’s a new generation.
I have started from the cockpit as usual. Cockpit modified
with:
Reinforcement plates existing on the upper and lower surfaces of the wings deleted.
The shape of the wheel bulges on the upper surfaces of the wings are not correct. I have deleted and replaced them
with parts from my spares box.
Size of the bulges on the cowling is not accurate. Inaccurate parts are deleted and replaced by the accurate ones from my spares box.
Size of Coffman starter blister is not accurate. I have used Hasegawa’s part.
Kit still needs some more corrections or modifications which are as follows
-
Eagle part oil cooler
-
Barracudacast Radiator and fabric ailerons
-
Barracudacast wheels
-
Barracudacast pilot access door.
-
Quickboost exhausts
-
Department of correction Mk.II propeller and spinner
Painting was done with Gunze Sangyo acrylics. Lower surfaces painted to RAF sky, upper surfaces to RAF Dark green and Dark earth.
Decals are from Xtradecal X32053 set.
Happy modelling
