Silly Week 2021

Found this at a local store and HAD to nab it. Had these back in the 70s. It was an awful kit then and it still is now. No locator pins, slightly smaller then 1/2 scale, the tricorder is maybe 1/3. However when your a little kid in the mid 70s before internet and one TV station which on occasion played Star Trek re-runs, this was pretty cool in a geeky way.

I pre-painted it earlier today and took all of perhaps two hours to assemble and touch up. The phaser so SO wrong its.....well......wrong. But I didn't know better 40 years ago. I remember the moving parts on the tricorder don't move that well. Unlike in 1976 I am not too likely to try and play with it in the yard this time. Should last longer this time.

I included a shot with some closer to scale cheapie props I found.
