  India Independence Day

This is my second Mig 29 model in the India Air Force colors , first being in 48 scale which now only exists virtually on ARC's gallery section after it took a bad fall from the shelf. So Mig-29 adds to my goal of building every single aircraft of the Indian Air Force. It is known as Baaz (eagle) in the India Air Force and I would say it's a pretty apt name.

Coming to the kit and build process, the kit is not that great. It had flash in some places and the fuselage fit was terrible. Had to quit a lot of putty to achieve the finish. Decided to paint it a beautiful blue tail with a star paint scheme that India Air Force once used with its aircraft. Aircraft belongs to Sqn no 47 Black Archers of the Indian Air Force. Also aircraft sports 2 tone camo scheme. Weapon load consists of R-27 and R-60 missiles.

For paints I have used a combination of Vallejo Model Colors and for the decals I have used an aftermarket decal sheet for HAD (Hungarian Aero Models). This one is definitely an eye catcher on my display shelf. I am close to finishing Mig collection of India Air Force except for Mig-27 which has been eluding due to lack of correct kit in the market. But hoping to finish the collection soon.

Happy Indian Independence Day.
