This is the well-known Hasegawa Hurricane 1/48. I used Xtradecal 48146 Hawker Hurricane Mk.I 1940 Battle of Britain Pt.2 to make P3675 UF-S 601 (County of London) Sqn RAF Exeter, September, 1940. It has a lightning bolt and a stylized RAF roundel on the nose which I found interesting and makes for one of the more colorful Battle of Britain machines. The Hasegawa Hurricane fits very well but has some curious engineering. The way the rear of the wing fits into the bottom of the fuselage places a seam line across some of the fabric detailing. It is really hard to clean up the seam line without obliterating some of the fabric detail.

Paint is
Xtracolor enamel X001 Dark Green, X002 Dark Earth and X007 Sky mixed with light
grays, tans and greens to make various shades. WW2 color photos of
Hurricanes show they were well used. I also weathered with pastels, oils
and Flory Washes. Seatbelts are courtesy of an ancient 1993 Reheat WWII
RAF/RN Accessory Set. The cockpit is well detailed, but since neither
Hasegawa nor I decided to provide a two piece canopy it is pretty well hidden.
The last touch was E.Z. Line for the antenna.
Hawker Hurricane Mk.I UF-S was the regular aircraft assigned to F/L Michael L "Mike" Robinson of No 601 Squadron RAF Exeter during 1940. Robinson claimed 4 enemy destroyed and 1 damaged while flying this aircraft until being posted to 238 Squadron on 28 September, 1940.
