Wanted to have this Vietnam era helicopter as a part of my collection.  So when I found this, didn't hesitate to buy it.  To my surprise, the quality of this kit is not in line with other Hasegawa kits.  Seems to me that this is a very old tooling. In the first glance the kit seems a no-go with lot of sprue flash, raised panel lines and injection pin marks.  Was unsure how the end result would look like.

There were two options available a Japanese Ground self defence force and a US Army version. I chose the Japanese version since I did not have any Japanese models.  After removing the flash and lots of filling and sanding, it turned out to be a nice model.  Of course, the windscreen and the front fuselage fit is not the good.

Being a basic kit, there were hardly any interior options like missing benches behind the pilot, very basic cockpit with bare minimum decal and two badly moulded pilot /co pilot figures. Thus, I decided to keep all the doors closed as there was nothing to look inside. Have finished this in the 3 paint JGSDF scheme . After a not so exciting start, was pleased with the model at the end.

At the end, I mounted this on a small wooden roundel and it proudly sits alongside my other models.
