I used
the 1/48 ICM Hs 126B-1 kit with aftermarket decals from Print Scale (Henschel
Hs-126, No. 48-099), a 1/48 photoetch interior set by Eduard (#FE 509), and the
Montex mini mask (#SM 48318).
I used various shades and tints of
RLM 79 (mixed with a few drops of red-brown for the darker recessed areas) and
RLM80 over RLM78 for the paint scheme. The shades and tints of RLM 79 and RLM 80
were applied strategically in alternating random thin layers to give the
appearance of weathered field-applied camouflage and touch-ups. Oil filters
and pin washes using raw umber, lamp black, yellow ochre, and burnt umber
combined with various gray and brown pastels were used to further weather the
plane. Light mists of red-brown followed by flat black were used for the exhaust
stains. A 60/40 mix of acrylic flat clear and thinner sealed everything.
Enjoy!
