1/35 Panda Models UH-1N Twin Huey

The "Twin Huey" is one of my favoured helicopters and I was highly enthusiastic as I heard about this 1/35 model and had to build one ASAP as I got the kit.  Building of the kit went very straight forward. There are no big fit problems and you can build a nice UH-1N out of the box.  As I wanted to build a rescue chopper, I had to add some details.  The inboard winch was build out of wire and plastic sheet as was the searchlight with mounting on the port side.  I added some details like seatbelts, “rescue equipment”, details of the wire cutters and so on.

The painting was done with my airbrush and Gunze colours, with layers of future between decals and weathering and a last coat of Gunze clear flat.  As I had no decal sheet for this helicopter, I had to take decals out of the “spares box” and dry transfers for the letters.  As the rescue choppers are in a good condition the weathering was only on the tail boom in the exhaust area.

All in all I enjoyed the building and I really like the result.  As the photo with the 1/72 UH-1N shows it is a really big model in 1/35 and a real eyecatcher in the showcase.

I hope, you like it
