This
is my Arado 234 C4 from Revell, with a V1 on its back from Tamiya.
Both
models where build almost straight from the box. The Ar 234 had some wiring added to the cockpit and the
undercarriage. There were also etched seatstraps added and the wheels came from
True details.
The
trapeze for the V1 was scratch build from sheets of styrene and some plastic and
metal rods. The idea came after seeing some drawings and after looking at the
1/72 kit from Dragon. There where no problems with building the kits, with the
exception of the wing to fuselage joint for the Ar 234 (but that is now a well
known problem with this kit).

After
completing both kits, it was time to get the airbrush out.
The
Arado was painted in the colours of RLM 76 (underside), RLM 81 and RLM 82 (both
upperside). After this had dried I painted the “wellenmuster” with RLM 76.
The paint was a mixture from some Tamiya colours. The V1 was painted as per
Tamiya instructions. After some days drying did I painted both planes with
Future. The next day was it time for the decals. The decals came out of the box.
The only exception was the swastika, which was from my spare decals box. After
some good drying was it time to spray the planes again with Future, for the wash
of the panellines. Then it was time for the final cote of Testors mat paint.
After some days of drying was it time for the last parts to be added to the
airplanes and putting the V1 at the back of the Ar 234.
I
enjoyed this project which took a Commended at Scale Modelworld last year.
