I bought this kit
with the sole intention of it being used as the mount for a Varga pinup. I had
bought from Aztec Models a sheet of decals called "Realistic Pin-Up
Jugs", (the first one went on my P-47N and she ended up named
RED-E-RUTH. There is no name for this one though, but a picture says a thousand
words as they say, and I like the fact she is nameless) I cant say enough about
the quality of these decals, but I will definately buy more when I get the
chance.
The 'jug' is done in
the markings of Lt Sam Stamps of 63rd FS / 56th FG, flying out of England in
'42.

What can I say
about the quality of the Tamiya kit that hasn't already been said? Its flawless.
The cockpit is so detailed I couldn't see the need for any aftermarket
items in there. The only things that I did to the kit was to seperate the
rudder and the tail, and scratch build the gunsight glass. (don't throw out
clear plastic presentation boxes!!)
I used my tried and
trusted mix of Humbrol and Revell enamels for the spraying, and decal
application was done with Johnsons Klear floor polish. To bring out the panel
lines I used a sludge wash of crushed chalk and dish wash soap. After all
that had had a chance to dry, some chalk powder for weathering, a coat of
Humbrol matte varnish and she was done.
This kit may be more
expensive than other examples of this aircraft type on the market, yet I think
its worth the extra pennies!
